The unready queen / written and illustrated by William Ritter.
Brothers Cole and Tinn are finding their way back to normal after their death-defying journey to the heart of the Oddmire. Normal, however, wants nothing to do with them. Their new friend, Fable, daughter of the Queen of the Deep Dark, wants to visit the brothers at home. She promises the queen she'll keep quiet and hide herself and her magic from the people of Endsborough. But when Fable, Tinn, and Cole discover humans destroying the Wild Wood and the lives of its creatures for their own dark purposes, Fable has to speak out. As the unspoken truce between the townspeople and the inhabitants of the Wild Wood crumbles, violence escalates, threatening war - and bringing Fable's mother closer to the fulfillment of a deadly prophecy that could leave Fable as a most Unready Queen.
